BOARDMEMBER WARD 2, candidate

About Linzy

Linzy Dineen lives in Ward 2 with her fiancé, Ryan, and their dog, Nova, in the home they bought here last May. Linzy decided to run for the Town Board because she wants to invest early on in the future of this community, for her family and yours. As a new homeowner, affordability is one of Linzy’s top priorities, and she is committed to mitigating property taxes and keeping cost of living low. Linzy is also passionate about the environment and is dedicated to preserving and expanding green spaces and access to clean water, as well as protecting the fundamental human rights of all.

Before she lived in the Town of Poughkeepsie, Linzy was born and raised in the Hudson Valley. After graduating from Wallkill Senior High School, she earned three degrees at Syracuse University. She continued her education at the Cardozo School of Law in New York City. During law school, Linzy worked at The Innocence Project, Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, and the Legal Aid Society, and she served as a Senator on the Student Bar Association – the governing body of law schools across the nation – for three years. After taking the bar early as a Pro Bono Scholar, Linzy graduated law school and joined the Dutchess County Public Defender’s Office in June of last year.
