About greg
Biography:
Greg Freeman has been a resident of Dutchess County for 34 years, the last 13 years in the hamlet of New Hamburg. He and his wife, Joan, raised their three children here, all who attended the schools in Wappingers Central School District. Greg and Joan have always been active in their local communities.
Greg graduated with a PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University, and spent his entire career at IBM/GlobalFoundries in East Fishkill until retiring from executive management in 2023.
His results-oriented, collaborative, and curious-minded style is evidenced by publishing nearly 100 patents and journal articles over his career. This career success required him to understand both detailed technical problems as well as how organizations can achieve success. Since retirement, Greg has expanded his contributions to the local community, taking on new leadership roles, and is now working to be elected to represent Ward 1 as their councilman on the town board.
